About Boliba Savings and Credit
Boliba Savings and Credit was established under the Cooperative Societies Act No. 6 of 2000 (Registration Number 1544). It is the trading arm of Boliba Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
The cooperative was founded in 2000 by former employees of the defunct Lesotho Bank (in liquidation) together with visionary local businessmen. Their shared goal was to create a member-owned financial institution that would provide accessible savings and credit services to the Basotho nation — especially those underserved by mainstream commercial banks.
Our Beginning
Boliba Savings and Credit officially commenced operations on 26th June 2000 at BEDCO. Today, our Head Office is located at The Old Coop Lesotho, just less than one kilometer from Maseru Main Traffic Circle along the Main South 1 Road.
We currently operate three service centers:
- Head Office & Main Service Centre – Maseru (Metcash Building)
- Maputsoe Branch – Leribe District
- Mohale’s Hoek Branch
